Rich Internet Applications

RIAmore offers rapid prototyping and development of Rich Internet Applications based on Apache Flex/Adobe AIR technology.

On the server side PHP and MySQL are used, combined with either the Zend Framework or the Drupal Content Management Framework.


In this section Actionscript, Flex and AIR applications are shown that demonstrate the fast responsiveness of Rich Internet Applications (RIA).

Since RIA technologies operate on the client side, serverload is reduced. This also means that a more lightweight server can be used.


PizzeRIA demo

The PizzeRIA demo shows three different RIAmore solutions for an imaginary pizza service.

Apart from working demos, technical details are offered for a better comparison:

  • PizzeRIA demo backend1 shows an orderform application and an evaluation application with a Flex frontend and a Drupal 6 backend;
  • PizzeRIA demo backend2 shows an orderform application and an evaluation application with a Flex frontend and a Zend Framework backend;
  • PizzeRIA AIR demo shows the evaluation application of PizzeRIA demo backend2 as a standalone desktop application offering online/offline evaluations.

YouKnits designer (desktop browser version/app for Android version)

With the YouKnits designer a user can create individual lace knitting designs by simply combining pattern units (YouKnits) per drag & drop.
The created designs can then be stored in pdf format on the users harddisk/sd-card.

RIAmaze generator

The RIAmaze generator shows a mazegenerator that can save mazes to the user's harddisk without any server processing.
